A pandemic-era rule allows banks to exclude treasuries and deposits from reserve requirements. Today the US central bank announced it will end the exemption March 31. This potential risk event reminds us that the US Federal Reserve's goals are full employment, stronger growth, inflation near 2% and no rate hikes in 2021 or 2022.
